Test & Calibration Equipment
The test equipment I use I my laboratory is based on the governments NATA accredited laboratory that I developed and managed back in the 1990s.The ACMA laboratory was closed to commercial testing by the ACMA around 2019 and so I could no longer access testing to support my consultancy work. That caused me to establish my own test laboratory.
In 2025 the test equipment from the ACMA laboratory was sold off with only a portion kept for use by ACMA field staff. I also purchased some of that equipment to supplement my laboratory’s capabilities.
The equipment can be divided into calibration or reference equipment, test and measurement equipment and ancillary equipment for field strength measurement, plus cables and filters etc.
Test and Measurement Equipment
- Power Meters. (Radio Frequency and Audio)
- Frequency Meters.
- Modulation Meters and Audio analysers.
- Signal generators. (RF and Audio)
- Spectrum Analysers. (Analogue sweep and real time designs)
- Oscilloscopes. (Analogue and Digital types)
- Vector Network Analysers.
- Field Strength receivers.
- Radio Test sets with multi-function capability.
- Directional couplers.
- Power amplifiers.
- TEM cell for paging receiver testing.
Calibration Equipment consists of the following items
- Power sensors with multiple power and frequency ranges.
- Reference fixed attenuators and stepped attenuators.
- GPS referenced frequency standards.
- Voltmeters, Amp meters, shunts and reference voltage sources.
- Reference capacitance and resistance values plus stepped resistance and capacitance units.
- Antennas. Bi-conical, Log periodic and adjustable dipole types.
- TEM cell for EMR probe and meter test and calibration.
